Twine and Rope Resin Questions Answered: Daqing 5000S in Practice

1. Can Daqing 5000S be mixed with recycled HDPE or filler in twine and rope compounds?

It can be tested, but we do not advise it for load-bearing cord. Recycled pellets bring gels and uneven melt that raise the break rate. If you must cut cost, trial a small share and track breaks per hour on the draw line before scaling up.

2. Will rope made from HDPE rot, or float in water?

HDPE does not rot or absorb water, so it suits wet work. Polyethylene is lighter than water, so most HDPE rope floats, which makes it easy to find and recover at sea.

3. How long does HDPE twine last outdoors in the sun?

It depends on UV protection, cord thickness and how strong the sun is. Twine without UV stabilizer can lose strength within a season, while stabilized cord lasts much longer. Ask the twine maker which UV package is in the product.

4. How do we add colour or UV masterbatch to Daqing 5000S without causing more filament breaks?

Use a polyethylene-based carrier, keep the let-down ratio low, and make sure the masterbatch disperses well. Poor dispersion leaves hard specks that snap thin filament. A fine screen pack and a short trial run will show problems early.
